Trapped casualties cut from car leaking fuel after crash in north Cornwall

Two people have had to be cut from the wreckage of their car after a crash in north Cornwall.

They were trapped after the vehicle ended up on its side near Launceston on Thursday night, leaking fuel.

Firefighters from Launceston and Bodmin rushed to the scene at Langdon Cross after three vehicles collided.

Members of the public gave first aid before the casualties were treated and left in the care of paramedics.

The B3254 was closed for several hours to allow the emergency services to work and vehicles to be recovered.

Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters from Launceston and Bodmin attended a call to a three car road traffic accident.

"One of the vehicles involved was on its side, leaking fuel with two people trapped inside.

"Members of the public gave first aid whilst fire crews stabilised the vehicle and made access to the casualties.

"Both casualties were released from the vehicle and left in the care of paramedics".
