Truro Rugby Club are launching a crowdfunder to honour their late chairman.

They're hoping to raise twenty thousand pounds to finish a new stand, which will be named after Carl Price, who died in October last year.

The plans include including installing metal handrails along all steps, landscaping work in front of the stand, erecting a memorial plaque and signage for Carl, and cladding the back wall of the changing rooms.

Some of the money will also be used to help complete repairs on the changing rooms, which were vandalised just weeks after Carl died.

More than £100,000 worth of damage was done in the attack.

Luke Trescothick, one of the club's directors told us that was devastating, "It was a massive shock, and on top of Carl's passing it was a double whammy. It meant the volunteers had to work extra hard to get a couple of changing rooms up and running."

The club is now asking people to make a donation, spread the link on their social media pages, and local businesses are being asked if they can donate rewards to their sponsors.

Steve Nicholls, who's another of the club's directors, told us, "As you can imagine, Truro Rugby Club is like it's own little mini community, and Carl knew most of those people, so we're really looking to reach out to our members, our sponsors, anybody associated with the club, to help us with this fundraising effort."
