Truro win National League South after early goal glut
John Askey's side beat St Albans 5-2 on the final day to seal the title and promotion
Truro City have won the National League South after a final day victory over St Albans City.
Three goals in the first ten minutes helped John Askey's side secure a 5-2 home victory, which saw the visitors relegated.
Goals from Luke Jephcott, Dominic Johnson-Fisher, Tyler Harvey, Connor Riley-Lowe and Andrew Neal kicked started the promotion party as the side clinched a place in next seasons National League.
Truro entered the final day as one of six sides with a chance of becoming Champions, topping the table on goal difference ahead of Torquay United.
But the early goals eased nerves and despite a 4-1 win for Torquay, the title was rarely in jeopardy.
It means Truro win the league by two goals on goal difference, thanks to having scored 75 goals across the campaign, compared to Torquay's 73, with both having conceded only 42 goals in 46 matches.
