DOUBLE weather warning for gales and thunderstorms is out for Cornwall
We miss the heatwave already!

The heatwave seems to be well and truly over, as a double weather warning for gales and thunderstorms has been issued for Cornwall.
Across the week there was an amber alert in force for extreme heat, as temperatures hit 32C in some parts of the Duchy.
Now a yellow warning for wind is out, it comes into force at 3pm today (Friday 23rd July) through until midnight.
It covers all of Cornwall aside from the area north of Camelford towards Bude, and the very top corner of the Duchy.
What to expect:
Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
Some tricky driving conditions for those towing caravans, and possible delays to ferry transport
Some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities may be affected by spray and/or large waves
Some damage may be caused to temporary summer structures
And if that wasn't enough, a yellow warning for thunderstorms will then come into force at 8pm tonight and last through until 10pm on Saturday night.
What to expect:
Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
Flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes or hail
Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
"Strong, gusty east to northeasterly winds will develop through the afternoon and evening ahead of an area of thunderstorms. Some places may see gusts of 45 to 55 mph, especially along exposed coasts and near and over hills. This may lead to tricky driving conditions, for example for vehicles towing caravans, and cause some disruption, for example at camp sites."
"Heavy rain and thunderstorms will move into southern areas during Friday night, reaching south Wales and the Midlands early on Saturday. This is likely to bring frequent lightning, possible large hail and gusty winds as well as torrential rainfall for some. Where this occurs, perhaps most likely in central parts of southern England, 25 to 35 mm of rain could fall within an hour, with possible flooding. Further slow-moving thunderstorms will develop by Saturday afternoon across southern counties of England, easing only slowly through the evening. Not all places affected but where they occur, a renewed threat of torrential rainfall and flooding, some locations seeing 30 to 50 mm within an hour or two. Lightning, large hail and locally gusty winds could pose additional hazards."
