Family pays tribute to 88 year-old who died after crash near Newquay

The family of Patricia Simmons has paid tribute to the great-grandmother, who died after a collision near Newquay.

Patricia, a resident of Higher Fraddon, was involved in a crash on the A392 near White Acres on the morning of Wednesday, 26th November 2025.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 9.50am, after reports of a collision involving a red Ford Fiesta and a yellow JCB tractor.

Mrs Simmons was airlifted to Derriford Hospital but tragically passed away the following day as a result of her injuries.

Family pay tribute

In a statement, Patricia’s family highlighted the loss felt by loved ones: “Patricia Simmons, aged 88 and resident of Higher Fraddon, was involved in a vehicle collision on the morning of Wednesday 26th November on the A392 near Newquay. Unfortunately and sadly she succumbed to her injuries the next day.

“She leaves behind a husband, four children, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.”

Witness appeal

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police’s Roads Policing Team are appealing for any witnesses to come forward as they continue investigating the circumstances of the collision.

They are encouraging anyone who saw the crash or has dash-cam footage that may be relevant to contact them by calling 101 or visiting their website.
