Fire crews from across Cornwall were called out to a large blaze near Camelford this morning (Saturday 24 April) involving at least two tractors.

Critical Control received a 999 call at around 2am stating that a derelict building could be seen on fire from the A39 Valley Truckle.

Two crews from Delabole were first on the scene, along with an appliance from Wadebridge and a Wholetime Officer.

It was confirmed that two tractors were well alight along with a large quantity of wood and pallets surrounding them. The blaze was approximately 10 metres by three metres and two-point-four metres in height.

As the night continued, more appliances and water pumps were mobilised to the scene from Bodmin, Liskeard and Launceston.

Firefighters said they had to battle strong winds to stop the flames from spreading to a nearby barn.

The extents of the blaze is currently unknown. Cornwall Fire and Rescue have been approached for an update.
