Torpoint Community College student tests positive for coronavirus
A small number of pupils are being asked to self-isolate
A student in Year 11 at Torpoint Community College has tested positive for coronavirus.
They have been self-isolating since last Monday and a small number of other pupils will have to do the same.
A letter has gone out to parents and remote learning provision will be put in place.
Bosses say the health, safety and wellbeing of the college community is an absolute priority.
In a Facebook message, the college said: "The College has just received notification a student in Year 11 has tested positive for COVID-19. They had been self-isolating since the afternoon of Monday 12th October. We have contacted the DfE helpline to obtain support from health officials.
"A dynamic risk assessment has been completed by the health official and the College is acting upon their advice.
"A small number of students will be required to self-isolate and a letter will be sent to their parents shortly. A remote learning provision will be put in place for those students to ensure they can continue with their learning. A letter will also be sent to all other parents with further details, advice and guidance.
"Please rest assured the health, safety and wellbeing of all our College community is an absolute priority."
