Some parents out there will definitely relate to this one - a toddler has been rescued in Bude after getting locked inside a car!

Despite the tot doing his best to self-rescue, firefighters say the sun made the vehicle very hot and they smashed a window to get him out.

Crews added that the little boy "certainly had determination" but could not quite make it out of his seat.

Posting on social media on Monday, Bude Community Fire Station said the youngster was reunited with his mum.

The team added the hashtag "not just fires".

Bude CFRS said: "1x toddler successfully rescued from a locked car. The little guy certainly had determination and did his best to self-rescue with our guidance but couldn't quite make it out of his seat!

"The sun made it very hot in the car so we safely smashed a window in a controlled manner and he was reunited with Mummy".

As the saying goes, 'all's well that ends well!'
