Three vehicles catch fire in Bodmin in the middle of the night

People are being asked to report any suspicious activity to police

People are being urged to report suspicious activity after three vehicles caught fire in Bodmin in the middle of the night.

Firefighters got the shout to Robartes Road just after 3am on Tuesday morning (7th September).

Crews said the vehicles were found to be well alight and two appliances were called to the scene.

They used three hose reel jets to put the flames out.

It comes amid a rise in vehicle fires in the town any anyone with any information is asked to contact police.

Bodmin Community Fire Station said: "This morning at 03:16, two appliances from Bodmin Community Fire Station were mobilised to a fire involving three vehicles.

"Four BA, three hose reel jets and small tools were used to extinguish the fire.

"Recently we have noticed a substantial rise in vehicle fires within the town and we are asking members of the public to report any suspicious activity to Devon and Cornwall Police."

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service added: "At 03:16 the critical control centre mobilised one appliance from Bodmin to reports of a vehicle on fire.

"Once in attendance firefighters immediately requested a second appliance, due to three vehicles being well alight.

"Four breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets and small tools were used to extinguish the fire."
