Three children seriously injured following crash on Cornwall peninsula

Police are appealing for dashcam footage after a van and a car collided at Treleaver on the Lizard

Three children have been seriously injured after a crash on Cornwall's Lizard peninsula.

Two were airlifted to Bristol Children's Hospital after a van and car collided at Treleaver.

The third and a driver - a 32-year-old woman - were rushed to Treliske.

The incident happened on the B3293 on Wednesday 11th August, closing the road for several hours.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw something at around 3pm, or anyone who has any dashcam footage.

"Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious collision between a van and a car on the B3293 near Treleaver on Wednesday 11th August.

"Emergency services were called to the scene at around 3pm.

"A white Ford Tranist van driven by a 47-year-old man collided with a red Peugeot 206 driven by a 32-year-old woman and containing three children.

"As a result of the collision, the three children sustained serious injuries.

"Two were airlifted to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and the third was taken to hospital in Treliske along with the female driver, who also received significant injuries.

"The driver of the van sustained minor injuries and is helping police with their enquiries.

"Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team and forensic collision investigators attended the scene along with local officers.

"Police are appealing for any witnesses of the collision, or anyone with any dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward".
