Man, 19, dies following a serious crash in south-east Cornwall

Police have confirmed a serious crash on the A374 in south-east Cornwall was fatal.

Officers say a 19-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene at Torpoint, after two cars collided.

The collision happened shortly before 2.30pm on Friday 7th October, closing the road for over eight hours.

Four other people were taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment.

Devon & Cornwall Police are urging anyone who saw what happened to get in touch, quoting log 480 of 07/10/2022.

A force spokesperson said: "At approximately 2.20pm on Friday emergency services were called to reports of a road traffic collision on A374 in Torpoint involving a black Renault Clio and a black Kia.

"Sadly, as a result of the collision, a 19-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Four other persons were taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment".

Police are asking anyone who witnessed Friday's incident, or who has information, to contact them via 101 - quoting log 480 07/10/22.
