Teenage boy assaulted by group of men in St Austell

He suffered injuries to his face over the Easter weekend

A teenager has been assaulted by a group of men in St Austell.

Police say the boy suffered injuries to his face, which are not believed to be serious.

It happened on North Street just after 7pm on Saturday evening (16th April).

Officers are investigating what happened and anyone with information is being urged to come forward.

A Devon & Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police are investigating reports of an assault which took place on North Street, St Austell at around 7.15pm on Saturday 16th April.

"It was reported that a teenage boy was assaulted by a group of men. The victim sustained facial injuries as a result of the incident, which are not believed to be serious.

"Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries in relation to this matter."
