Police say a 15-year-old has been arrested and released under investigation

A teenager has suffered a broken nose after being assaulted by group of youths in Truro city centre.

Police are investigating after it happened in the Victoria Square area on Tuesday.

They say a 15-year-old boy was arrested and has since been released under investigation.

A Devon & Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police are investigating an incident where a teenager was assaulted by a group of youths on Victoria Square in Truro on Tuesday 22nd February, which left the victim with a suspected broken nose.

"As a result of police enquiries, a 15-year-old boy was located and arrested.

"He has since been released under investigation and enquiries into the incident are ongoing."

It is reported that two incidents occurred in the city on Tuesday.

Truro, Perranporth and Tregony Police posted on their Facebook page: "We are aware of two incidents in Truro last night involving groups of youths who are not from the Truro area.

"One male arrested and released under investigation.

"The individuals detained are not those that were involved in the incident at Moorfield car park."
