Residents evacuated in Flushing, Falmouth area after 'suspicious package' reports

Police have also cordoned off an 100m area

Residents in Flushing, Falmouth have been evacuated as a precaution following reports of a suspicious package.

A 100m cordon is also in place while investigations are underway.

Police received these reports in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 8 January) on Trefusis Road in Flushing, Falmouth.

The Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) team have been contacted to carry out their assessment of the situation.

DI Claire Nicholls said: “We have evacuated residents as a precaution who are being supported at Tregrew Farm as we await EOD assessment.

“There is a 100m cordon in place and the roads surrounding the area have also been closed for the time being.

“Anyone who has any information regarding the incident is asked to contact us via 101 quoting reference number 50230005520.”
