A suspected wartime bomb has been found on a beach in Cornwall

St Agnes Coastguard have given an update after RNLI Lifeguards found the item on Trevaunance cove yesterday afternoon.

A spokesperson said: "We assisted Beach lifeguards with a cordon whilst specialist advice was sought from EOD.

"Mitigating action was taken to reduce the risk to beach users and the item will be assessed by EOD specialists in due course.

"If you see anything suspicious on the beach, please remember to call 999 and ask for the coastguard. "

Police have confirmed they helped to keep the area clear.
