Police investigating suspected arson attack near Liskeard

A car caught alight and other nearby vehicles were also damaged

Police are investing a suspected arson attack near Liskeard.

A car caught alight in the yard of a business at Upton Cross which also damaged other nearby vehicles.

It happened at around 5am on Monday 22nd November.

A 45-year-old man from the Liskeard area has been arrested on suspicion of arson and released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

At the time of the incident, a spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "Appliances from Liskeard, Callington, and Launceston responded to this incident.

"On arrival a fire involving several vehicles which had spread to the side of a commercial building was discovered. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and a man jet to extinguish the fire.

"Arson is suspected as the cause and the police are in attendance."
