Man dies after 'serious burns' in Newquay

A man has died suddenly in Cornwall after reports he had sustained serious burns at a property in Newquay.

Police were called by the fire service to Henver Road, Newquay at around 8.30am today (January 26).

A local man in his 90s was taken to Treliske hospital by ambulance, where he later died.

No one else was injured during the incident and his next of kin have been informed.

The death of the man isn’t being treated as suspicious - and officers continue to undertake enquires on behalf of the coroner.
