Self-isolation for some students and staff at Cornwall College after positive Covid-19 tests
It is affecting those studying and teaching engineering and plumbing courses
A number of engineering and plumbing students and staff - at Cornwall College - are self-isolating after testing positive for coronavirus.
In a statement the facility says it is working closely with Public Health England and Cornwall Council to maintain safety for all.
No other students or staff need to self-isolate at this time. Those who are in isolation are being taught remotely.
“As of 11 December, we have a cohort of engineering and plumbing students and staff, and a support staff member on our St Austell campus who are self-isolating following positive COVID-19 tests.
"During this period, self-isolating students are being taught remotely. No other students or staff at the college need to self-isolate at this time unless they have been specifically told to.
"The safety of our students and staff is our priority and we are following Government guidance and working closely with Public Health England (PHE) and Cornwall Council.
"We have robust measures in place to make our campuses as Covid-secure as possible. These measures have been reviewed by PHE and Cornwall Council health officials, and they are supporting our approach.
