A new STEM and Health Skills Centre is officially being opened in Bodmin, as part of Truro and Penwith College.
The Education Secretary Gillian Keegan has made a visit to the Duchy to talk about the importance of local skills and employability.
The centre, which is part of Truro and Penwith College, will offer a range of programmes to meet the needs of engineering, manufacturing, digital and health organisations across North Cornwall.
"There's loads of careers and jobs in STEM"
MP Gillian Keegan, Secretary of State for Education, said:
"Looking at what we've got here, there's renewables, offshore wind, advanced manufacturing, space and aeronautical businesses.
"Most jobs have some digital elements in them now so we want to make sure that they have the opportunity to learn the digital aspects even if it doesn't feel like it's a digital role."
The 1,918 square metre centre will train more than 300 people a year, with over 120 learners on apprenticeships and T-Level qualifications, and support 150 businesses in the next five years.
