A small number of workers have tested positive for coronavirus at a countryside store in Cornwall.

Those affected at MA Grigg, based at Hewas Water near St Austell, are self-isolating at home.

Anyone who had been in contact with the individuals was asked to take a Covid test.

Bosses say they are confident that any positive cases have been identified and insist the safety of staff and customers is their top priority.

They added that the store remains open for business.

"A small number of our employees tested positive for Covid-19 and have been self-isolating at home for a week and will continue to self-isolate.

"In line with government guidance, we asked any members of our team who have been in contact with the affected individuals to take a Covid test.

"We are confident that any positive cases have been identified as a result of this.

"We have been in close contact with an Environmental Health Officer and they have confirmed that we have responded to the situation in accordance with the relevant protocols.

"The safety of our employees and customers remains our top priority.

"We continue to have robust health and safety measures in place, including social distancing, hand sanitiser stations and regular additional cleaning to ensure everyone is kept safe whilst visiting our premises".
