Stadium for Cornwall bosses are calling on our six local MPs to help lobby the government for £14m of funding.

The six thousand capacity stadium, planned for Langarth on the outskirts of Truro, will be home to the Cornish Pirates and Truro City Football Club as well as a number of sporting and community facilities.

Those behind the project say the sports, health and education campus will be a rallying point for Cornish pride, the community and a centre for the promotion of health and wellbeing within the county.

Now they are calling on the Chancellor to support the Stadium in the upcoming Spending Review.

Bosses say the government commitment will help the health of our community, deliver new jobs and opportunities for our young people and help with Cornwall’s levelling up agenda.

They have released a new video, urging people to pledge their support...

Martin Tucker is the Principle of Truro and Penwith College as well as the Chair of the Strategic Group for the Stadium.

He told us: "We're the only county in the country without a stadium, that has to be readdressed. But it is more than a sports stadium, it is a community facility, and sadly without that 14 million there will not be the Stadium for Cornwall. We're looking for our Cornish MPs to support us.

"It's very straight forward, without that central investment from the government, it's something numerous people from the Conservative Party have promised us, without that the stadium won't happen."
