"Devastating": Owners of St Ives business react following massive fire

Fire crews say Coast 2 Coast Laundry Services suffered "sizeable damage"

The owners of a St Ives laundry firm have described a huge fire as devastating.

Posting on social media, Coast 2 Coast Laundry Services have thanked Cornwall's fire crews.

Teams from Penzance to Perranporth were called to Penbeagle Industrial Estate on Thursday morning.

They say the flames and smoke caused "sizeable damage" and are still working to establish what started the blaze.

Coast 2 Coast say they are working to contact all their customers as soon as possible.

They have also said they will be back "stronger than ever".

Posting on their Facebook page on Thursday evening, the team said: "Unfortunately we had a devastating fire at the laundry today.

"First of all I would like to thanks all the firefighters for all there hard work today.

"We have tried contacting as many customers this morning and will contact more tomorrow.

"As you can imagine we have had a lot to deal with today and thank you for all your lovely messages of support.

"Please be patient and will get around to contacting you all with a plan.

"Love Rachel & Gail and all the staff at coast 2 coast Laundry".

Dozens of people have commented to offer their support, prompting Coast 2 Coast to add: "Thank you everyone for all your kind words and support, we are so overwhelmed by each and every one of you.

"We are made of tough stuff and will be back stronger than ever just please bear with us".
