Man arrested after cyclist seriously injured in St Agnes collision

A dark coloured car police believe was involved has also been recovered

A man has been arrested by police investigating a serious collision in the St Agnes area.

The crash took place on Goonown Road, between Sevenmilestone and Goonbell, at around 6:15pm on Wednesday.

A pedal cycle and a dark coloured car were involved.

A male cyclist was airlifted to Derrifold Hospital, where he is being treated for potentially life changing injuries.

Police have arrested a 28-year-old man from the Truro area on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and other motoring offences.

He remains in custody.

A black Mercedes Coupe that police believe was involved has also been recovered by police.

Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team are continuing to investigate, and are appealing for anyone with information or video footage to get in touch.
