A stretch of the A390 in Cornwall, closed after what police described as a serious crash, has reopened.

Two vehicles are understood to have been involved at Callington on Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters say one ended up on its side and one casualty had to be cut free.

The collision happened between the junctions for Florence Road and Tavistock Road, closing the road in both directions.

"Appliances from Callington and Liskeard along with a Rescue Tender from Bodmin and Flexi-Duty Officer were mobilised to a road traffic collision at the above location.

"Crews used crash rescue equipment to release one casualty from a vehicle on its side.

"South Western Ambulance Service and Devon & Cornwall Police were also in attendance".
