‘Serious crash’ closes stretch of main road between Truro and St Austell

Police have confirmed three cyclists were seriously injured following the collision on the A390

UPDATE: The road has reopened, however police have confirmed three cyclists are seriously injured.

A stretch of the main road between Truro and St Austell is closed in both directions because of a serious crash.

There are reports several cyclist are involved in the collision on the A390 at Probus.

The air ambulance is believed to have attended the scene.

The road was closed at around 7.30pm on Thursday (16th September) and a diversion is in place.

Inrix Traffic and Travel said: “A390 in both directions closed. Slow traffic due to serious accident.

“Several cyclists involved between A3078 (Tregony turnoff, Probus) and B3275 (Ladock turnoff, Tresillian).

“The air ambulance has attended.

“The road was closed at approx. 19:30, affecting traffic between Truro and St Austell.

“Diversion - via the B3275 Northbound, then continue on to Truck Hill, Fore Street and Fairfields through Probus village, to re-join the A390 at the Trewitthen Rondabout, and vice-versa”.

The road reopened overnight on Thursday 16th September into Friday 17th September.
