'Serious crash' involving car and pedestrian closes main road in Bodmin

Police say a woman in her 70s has been rushed to hospital with a possible leg fracture

An elderly woman has been rushed to hospital after what witnesses described as a serious crash in Bodmin.

The collision involved a car and a pedestrian on the A389 Dunmere Road.

Police say a woman in her 70s suffered a possible leg fracture on Wednesday morning.

The incident happened near the Clock Tower Roundabout, closing the road in both directions.

"Police were called to Dunmere Road, Bodmin, at around 7.45am with a report of a collision between a ca and a pedestrian.

"A woman in her 70s suffered a possible leg fracture and has been taken to hospital via land ambulance".

On Wednesday morning (17th March) Inrix Traffic and Travel reported that a pedestrian and a car were involved.

"Traffic easing. Accident cleared on A389 Dunmere Road in both directions between the Council Building and the Clock Tower Roundabout.

"Previous congestion to surrounding routes through Bodmin, Boundary Road past the Hospital is busy along with A389 West Heath Road heading into Bodmin.

"Reopened around 09:10 following an accident right at the junction with the Clock Tower.

"The accident was not as serious as initially thought but delays do remain in the area".
