A second man from Cornwall has been charged with murder following the death of a 22-year-old man from Plymouth.

Callum was found seriously injured at Kit Hill, near Callington, East Cornwall, on Saturday 26 March and died two days later from his injuries.

Andrew Hatrey, 38, from Callington, was charged with murder at a court hearing at Truro Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday 19 January, and was remanded in custody. His next court appearance is on Thursday 21 January at Truro Crown Court.

Kristian Humphries, 30, from Gunnislake, has also been charged with murder and has been remanded in custody after appearing at Truro Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Monday 18 January.

Both men have also been charged with conspiracy to commit violent disorder.

A 27-year-old man from Callington, arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and a 40-year-old woman from the village of St Ive, who was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, have also been reported to court and will appear before magistrates when dates have been set.

“These charges have been as a result of a painstaking nine-month police investigation and detectives are continuing to gather evidence and prepare for trial.

“Our thoughts however remain firmly with Callum’s family at this difficult time.”
