Police investigate reports man 'beat seagull to death' at St Ives beach

Officers say the offence took place over the weekend

It is being reported that a man beat a seagull to death at a beach in St Ives over the weekend.

Police say it happened at Porthgwidden on Saturday afternoon.

Killing a seagull is an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

Officers say they are investigating and anyone with information is asked to get in touch.

"We are investigating a report that a man beat a seagull to death at Porthgwidden beach, St Ives.

"The incident happened between 5pm and 5.15pm on Saturday 17th July."
