Member of the public helps rescue woman from scaffolding in St Austell

It happened just after midnight on Sunday morning

A member of the public has helped to rescue a woman from scaffolding in St Austell.

They assisted at the scene on Moorland Road just after midnight on Sunday.

Emergency services were called and the woman was brought down to safety.

Officers say she was then treated by paramedics.

"Police were called shortly after midnight on Sunday 1 August following reports that a woman was seen on scaffolding on Moorland Road.

"A member of the public who was in the area assisted at the scene whilst emergency services were on route.

"She was brought to safety and treated by ambulance as a precaution."
