A sailor's reported to have been seriously injured in a crash during the Fowey Regatta.
Fowey RNLI says it happened during racing the harbour on Wednesday, when two boats crashed.
A crew member in one of the boats has undergone surgery, and is now said to be in a serious but stable condition.
They said: "On Wednesday August 21 during racing inside Fowey Harbour as part of Fowey regatta week, two boats participating in one of the races collided. This caused the crew member at the front of one of the boats to sustain serious life threatening injuries.
"The regatta safety medics who were already on the scene responded and a Mayday was put out for Fowey’s all-weather lifeboat to respond. The lifeboat launched at 3.46pm.
"The casualty subsequently had urgent surgery and we understand he is now stable but in a very serious condition. Our thoughts are with him and his family and friends.
"No further details will be released at this stage."
