The Royal Cornwall Hospital will host its annual Baby Remembrance Service at Truro Catholic Church today (Sunday 23 October).

The event - organised by the Hospital Chaplains and the Bereavement Specialist Midwives - gets underway at 3.00pm.

It takes place just after National Baby Loss Awareness week and is an opportunity for parents, families, and friends to meet with others for mutual support, as well as to remember precious babies who are no longer with us.

Senior Chaplain Sarah Chaplin said: "Having not been able to meet in person for two years due to the Covid pandemic, we are so pleased to be able to welcome everyone once again for a face-to-face event."

The programme includes poems, readings, music and an act of remembrance. The service is suitable for children, and they are warmly welcomed and included in the service.

Candles will also be lit and hearts placed on the Memory Tree.

The service will be approximately 45-50 minutes long. Resources will be available and refreshments served.

The service will also be live streamed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ij2BN7Z2Ab4
