RNLI called out in search for casualty near Mousehole

A man has been found dead near Mousehole.

Emergency services were called after reports of a person in the sea on Saturday (22/11) - but it later emerged that the casualty was on land.

Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Volunteers from RNLI Penlee were called out to help emergency crews, with lifeboats being launched at just after 1pm.

RNLI crew supported the cliff rescue team, ambulance and police at the scene.

In a statement, the Penlee RNLI Lifeboats said: "Falmouth Coastguard tasked RNLI Penlee at 1pm on 22 November 2025 to assist with a casualty at Penlee Point near Mousehole.

"Both lifeboats Ivan Ellen and Mollie and Ivor Dent were launched at the same time to a casualty that proved to be onshore and not in the sea.

"Penlee’s RNLI volunteers were put ashore to support the emergency services, Penzance Cliff Rescue Team, Ambulance Service and Police who handled the incident."
