Retired teacher charged with historic sex offences at private school

The allegations date back to the late 1970s

A retired teacher from Cornwall has been charged in connection with historic child sex offences at a private school in Kent.

The offences are reported to have involved pupils at Holmewood House Prep School in Langton Green near Tunbridge Wells between 1979 and 1985.

Neil Scott of Bucklers Lane, St Austell, was charged in May with four counts of indecent assault and five counts of gross indecency with a child.

The 75-year-old appeared before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday where he pleaded not guilty to all counts.

He was bailed and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 9 July.
