A coronavirus vaccination centre, set by up a GP surgery in a Cornish village, has reportedly been targeted by vandals TWICE in one week.

Photos show graffiti sprayed on the side of a marquee at Mount Hawke Surgery near Truro, as well as the tent walls having been slashed.

It is understood the site, which has carried out 25,000 vaccinations since January, has been repaired and CCTV cameras have been installed.

Chris Whitworth, a GP at the surgery, told the BBC he was "angry and disappointed" with the situation.

He said: "The vaccination programme has been received greatly in the local population, so to have something like this happen over the last week is a real kick in the teeth".

Chris went on to say having to spend money on repairs was "poor", at a time when the NHS is already under huge pressure.

The incident has been reported to Devon & Cornwall Police and the force confirmed officers are investigating.

In a statement, police said: "I can confirm that police are investigating reports of criminal damage at Mount Hawke Surgery to a tent outdoors last week.

"The local team have been informed and enquiries are ongoing in relation to this matter".

Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact police via 101, quoting crime reference CR/093823/21.
