Registration opens for Cornwall's biggest running event
The Eden Marathon and Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 15 October
Runners from far and wide are signing up to participate in this year’s Eden Marathon and Half Marathon.
The event, jointly organised by the Eden Project and St Austell Running Club, is now in its 13th year.
It takes place on Sunday 15 October and those wishing to participate can register via the Eden Project website before 30 September.
Organisers have already seen over 1,000 runners sign up from across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and Australia.
The event sees participants taking on the challenge of multi-terrain courses before crossing the finish line in front of Eden’s world-famous Biomes.
After receiving their medals, participants are then able to enjoy a well-earned beer, courtesy of St Austell Brewery, and a pasty.
All race finishers will receive a themed medal and there is free entry to Eden for runners and accompanying family members and supporters on the day.
Eden Project Commercial Manager Tracey Smith, who has organised the event since its inception, said: "As we enter our thirteenth year of the Eden Marathon and Half Marathon, it’s always wonderful to see such a fantastic response from the local community, with participants from Cornwall and throughout the South West signing up in large numbers to take part.
"It’s also incredibly exciting to be welcoming participants from across the country and from around the world who are choosing to travel to Eden to be a part of this event. We have already seen over 1,000 participants sign up for what is shaping up to be one of our biggest years since the event’s inception, so make sure you get your entries in before 30 September 30. We can’t wait to see everyone on Sunday 15 October."
