Cornwall's rail passengers are being warned to expect further disruption as a hangover from Saturday's strikes.

NO trains were running in the Duchy on 8th October, amid nationwide walk-outs over pay.

Great Western Railway is expecting some short-notice cancellations on Sunday and has said services which are running will be "extremely busy".

GWR says a "reduced and revised" timetable will be in operation on 9th October and morning services will start later.

However, Sunday's Night Riviera sleeper service will be running as normal.

Great Western Railway's dedicated strike webpage states: "Trains will start later than usual with some morning services cancelled.

"A normal timetable will be in operation, but we anticipate some short-notice cancellations.

"Trains which are running will be extremely busy. If you can travel on Monday 10th or Tuesday 11th October, please do so. Tickets will be valid on GWR services".

"Our refund policy and Book with Confidence policy will remain in place.

"If you hold a return ticket, you can claim a refund of your unused full fare, even if only one leg of your journey is affected. We will update this page with more information if the current situation changes".

You can check the latest information on Great Western Railway's dedicated strike webpage.
