All eyes on the skies as the Red Arrows perform for Falmouth Week

UPDATE: Bad weather means Wednesday's display over the bay has had to be cancelled

Organisers of Falmouth Week have confirmed the Red Arrows display has been cancelled due to bad weather.

It will be all eyes on the skies as the Red Arrows perform as part ofFalmouth Week.

The famous stunt team will be putting on a show this evening (Wednesday 11th August) at 6.15pm following a three-year absence from the event.

Organisers say the team will once again delight spectators 'with a world-class display of breath-taking stunts and synchronised manoeuvres'.

Where to watch the Red Arrows:

The air show will take place on the seafront, so you can head down to the beach and enjoy the perfect location to view their display.

Vantage points to witness the performance include Pendennis Point, Cliff Road, Castle Beach, Gyllyngvase Beach and Swanpool Beach.

Falmouth Week organisers said: "There are plenty of places on the seafront to view the display from, whilst there is not a designated disability point, we will assist to admit people through road closures via security as long as it is safe to do so.

"We advise with all people attending to give plenty of time to arrive, whilst we are equally mindful of various disabilities and will do our best to accommodate.

"Please note as an example there are additional disabled portaloos at Gyllyngvase Beach and Pendennis point".

Road Closures and Parking:

Throughout the summer in Falmouth there is a daily road closure in the town centre from 11am – 4pm. During Falmouth Week, the roads in Falmouth Town Centre will be pedestrianised on Wednesday 11th August from 11am to 11pm.

Church Street Car Park will be closed for the duration of Falmouth Week and will be holding the evening entertainment on The Waterfront Car Park.

Custom House Quay Car Park will be closed all day on Wednesday the 11th August for the RNLI Fun Day. Other car parks will be open as usual. During the Falmouth Week RAF Red Arrows display, the seafront will be closed to traffic from 3pm.

What does the weather have in store for the Red Arrows?

The Met Office forecast for Thursday states: "A largely dry yet cloudy day for most with a few bright spells. A band of thicker cloud and drizzle will arrive into Cornwall by late afternoon. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

"Tonight: Low cloud spreads across the region overnight with hill fog and some coastal fog too. Low cloud will bring outbreaks of drizzle through the night. Minimum temperature 13 °C".

Falmouth Week organisers have since confirmed Wednesday's display has been cancelled due to bad weather.
