A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued for areas in the South West of England, and Wales, starting at midnight (2nd September) and lasting until 2pm.

Areas affected include: Bath, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Plymouth, Swindon, Torbay and Wiltshire.

The Met office say that heavy rain may cause travel disruptions and delays, flooding and interruption to power supplies.

They're urging people to check before they travel, and consider preparing a flood plan if your property is at risk of flooding.

A Met Office spokesperson said "Heavy rain and strong winds will move northeast through the first part of Wednesday, followed by heavy showers and some thunderstorms, these becoming more isolated through the afternoon.

"Rainfall totals widely 20-30 mm, but some places could see 40-60 mm within a period of 6-9 hours.

"Coastal gales are likely for a time, especially along English Channel coasts."
