Question over where statue of Cornish comedian Jethro should go
Fans are being asked for location ideas
A life-size statue of the famous Cornish comedian Jethro has been created and now fans are being asked where it should be placed.
Since his death in 2021, ÂŁ17,000 has been raised to commission Wadebridge sculptor Richard Austin to create the bronze sculpture in his memory.
Now complete, it shows the comedian smiling and holding a microphone.
Sculptor Richard tells us where he thinks the statue should be placed: "I'd love to see it going down at the foyer of the Hall for Cornwall.
"My reasoning for that is that he packed out the Hall for Cornwall so many times and if it was in the foyer, people could have their photograph taken with him."
He adds that he's pleased that the statue will be homed in Cornwall: "For me, it was a big thing that it was going to be in Cornwall, simply because much of my work goes across the Tamar - I've got about maybe five pieces in Cornwall.
"It's just nice to have another piece of such a famous Cornish legend as part of my work in Cornwall.
Real name Geoffrey Rowe, the comedy star built his name in the 1980s and 1990s, only announcing his retirement in 2020 after almost 50 years of touring.
Jethro died on December 14 2021 at the age of 73. Hundreds gathered to say a final farewell to the Cornish comic at his funeral in Truro a month later.
