Prince William to visit Newquay
He's visiting the site of his new housing project in Nansledan, and Fistral Beach
Prince William is in Cornwall today, on two engagements in Newquay.
The first will be in Nansledan, where he's visiting the site of an 'innovative housing project' to address homelessness.
Working with local homelessness charity St Petrocs, the Duchy is aiming to provide 24 homes with 'wrap around support' for local homeless people.
The land is being provided by the Duchy, who'll also be providing design management and expertise, with construction expected to begin in September.
Next, the Prince is meeting volunteers who aim to promote water safety at Fistral Beach.
The Duke will first spend time with Holywell Bay and Newquay Surf Life Saving Clubs which trains and supports volunteers to save lives and prevent drowning in open water.
His Royal Highness will then meet lifeguards and staff from the RNLI, who provide a seasonal service to Fistral Beach, to hear about the work they are doing to keep local people and tourists safe as they get set to enjoy the summer season.
Tomorrow, the Duke will be making his first visit to the Isles of Scilly since becoming Duke of Cornwall.
He'll be meeting representatives from local businesses at St Mary's Harbour, then head to St. Mary’s Community Hospital to meet staff and hear about a new integrated health and social care facility which is set to be built on adjacent land owned by the Duchy of Cornwall.
