A primary school from Cornwall has released its own Christmas song, to raise money for its local foodbank.

Around 600 pupils and staff from Newquay Junior Academy were involved in the cover of Forever Young.

It had to be filmed in small groups of 15, to follow the social distancing guidelines.

It was filmed at St Michael's Church, which allowed for plenty of space, and the voice recordings were also carried out there.

Now the song is helping those in need this Christmas by raising money for the Newquay Foodbank.

Headteacher Craig Hayes said he was inspired after watching Christmas adverts on TV.

He decided the school should create something similar to raise money and make sure the community has access to food.

"The opportunities this academic year had been limited in terms of trying to get groups of people together to celebrate all of the wonderful achievements that have happened.

"We've seen first hand at Newquay Junior how some of our families are struggling at the moment and have been during the lockdown period, and we just wanted to give something back to them."
