Police say they hope to give Cornwall more information about road closures and restrictions for the G7 by early May.

The Carbis Bay Estate will be hosting the three-day summit of world leaders on the 11th, 12th and 13th June.

Tregenna Castle in St Ives, Cornwall Airport Newquay and Falmouth's Maritime Museum will also play key roles.

Representatives from Devon and Cornwall Police have been taking questions about the event during a special Q&A on Facebook Live.

One asked what roads would be closed during the summit and how that would affect local services like access to GP surgeries.

In response, Chief Inspector Russ Dawe said some roads would have to be shut but added that the force is trying to minimise disruption as much as possible.

"There will be some requirement for road closures. There will be a level of disruption but we're trying to minimise that as much as we possibly can and our aim, alongside our colleagues within government, is to share that information with you in early May in order that those plans can be put in place.

"We're working very closely with the council as well, from a multi-agency perspective, to ensure that all that information is shared as soon as possible to make sure that the local community are cited on when the road closures will be in place and when they'll be lifted".
