An investigation's underway into a reported sexual assault on a boy in Cornwall almost eight years ago.

It's believed to have happened on 13 August 2016 in an outdoor play area at the Sandymouth Holiday Home Park, at a piece of play equipment shaped as a pirate ship.

The male suspect is believed to have been aged around 16-20 at the time and assaulted the victim inside the pirate ship.

T/Detective Constable Clare Keenan said: “This incident occurred out of sight but there were other children in the play area at the time who spoke with the victim and may have information which could assist our enquiries.

“We also believe that the suspect was local to the area and so we’re keen to hear from anyone who may be able to help us identify him.

“I’d ask anyone who was staying on the site around the time of the incident, anyone whose children may have used the play area and anyone who may be able to help identify the suspect or provide any information which could assist our enquiries, to get please get in touch.”
