Ongoing police incident in the centre of Truro

Officers were called to concerns for a woman's welfare and the road near the NCP multi-storey car park was closed

Police have confirmed they have been dealing with an ongoing incident in the centre of Truro.

It follows a report of concern for a woman's welfare.

Officers were called to the multi-storey car park at St Clement Street on Wednesday morning (14th April).

Sergeant Dave Pearce tweeted to say the road between Pydar and the Trafalgar roundabout was closed and urged drivers to avoid the area.

"Police were called to High Cross multi-storey car park in St Clement Street, Truro, at around 8.15am following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman.

"Officers remain at the scene and the incident is ongoing".

Devon and Cornwall Police

Inrix Traffic and Travel reported that St Clement Street was closed in both directions and there was queuing traffic in the area.

It has now been confirmed that the road has reopened.

"St Clement Street in both directions re-opened, traffic easing, earlier incident between Union Street and Old Bridge Street.

"The road had been fully closed to assist with the incident."
