Police trying to trace van driver who may have seen serious crash near Newquay

An appeal has been issued, after the late-night collision on Holywell Road left a man with potentially life-changing injuries

Devon & Cornwall Police have issued a fresh appeal after a serious crash near Newquay.

A man suffered potentially life-changing injuries on Holywell Road, near to Trevornick Holiday Park.

His car was the only vehicle involved in the collision, that happened just after 10.30pm on Wednesday of last week.

Officers are trying to trace the driver of a dark coloured van spotted in the area, who might have seen what happened.

They are also urging other potential witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

A police statement reads: "Police investigating a road traffic collision in Holywell Road, Newquay, are appealing for the driver of a dark coloured van to come forward.

"The single-vehicle road traffic collision, involving a silver Ford Focus, occurred in Holywell Road, near to Trevornick Holiday Park, Holywell, Newquay, Cornwall, at approximately 10.35pm on Wednesday 19th May.

"The male driver sustained serious, potentially life-changing injuries.

"Police are appealing for the driver of a dark coloured van, possibly blue, seen in the area at the time to come forward, as they may have witnessed the collision and may be able to assist officers with the investigation.
