Police appeal issued after broad daylight burglary in village near Redruth

Officers say high-value jewellery was stolen in Illogan, including a gold bracelet, platinum ring and diamond necklace

Police are investigating a high-value burglary near Redruth that happened in broad daylight.

They say jewellery was snatched from a house in Illogan, including a gold bracelet, platinum ring and diamond necklace.

The break-in happened at Cot Road on the afternoon of Monday 19th July.

Devon & Cornwall Police say although the area is rural, the road is quite busy and potential witnesses may have been driving by.

The force is urging anyone who saw something between 3pm and 5.15pm to come forward.

Police said: "Police investigating reports of a burglary near Redruth on Monday 19th July are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

"A property in Cot Road, Illogan, was targeted between 3pm and 5.15pm, with the thieves forcing entry and taking jewellery of high value.

"Among the jewellery that was stolen was:

An 18 ct gold bracelet with a 1.6 ct diamond

A platinum brilliant cut 4.03 ct diamond solitaire ring

Platinum feather look necklace with diamonds

Small round crisscross platinum and diamond necklace

Black Rado analog watch

"Although the property is in a rural location, it is on a busy road and officers are appealing for anyone to come forward who saw any unusual vehicles or people in and around the area at the time.
