Plea for anyone over 40 to book their coronavirus jabs in Cornwall
NHS Kernow says the mass vaccination centres at the Stithians and Royal Cornwall showgrounds are taking bookings
The rollout of the coronavirus vaccination continues in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, as even more people are being invited to have the life-saving jab.
Invites went out to people aged between 42 and 44 for their first COVID-19 vaccine early last week.
People aged 40 and 41 starting to receive text invites from Friday (30 April).
You can book an appointment at Stithians Showground, the Royal Cornwall Showground, Home Park in Plymouth, or at the community pharmacies at Roche, Truro and Plymouth.
This can be done by logging on to the national NHS booking service or calling 119.
You can also wait until you are contacted by your GP practice.
Jodeigh Phelps, 42-year-old mum from Redruth and Complaints and Freedom of Information Manager at NHS Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group, received a text last week and had her first vaccine on Friday.
"I'm really happy that I've finally had the vaccine.
"When I received my text, I went on to book straight away, and I could schedule it on a day that I wasn't working.
"I encourage everyone over 40 to book their vaccine when they're invited. It was so easy and straight forward to book, and everyone was really lovely at Stithians Showground when I arrived for my appointment".

Iain Davidson, clinical lead for the vaccination centres at Stithians and Wadebridge, and chief pharmacist at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, said: "We're delighted that we are now able to offer people over 40 the COVID vaccine.
"If you are 40 and over, we encourage you to book your vaccine today. This can be done online or by calling 119. The more people that come forward for the jab, the more people in Cornwall we can protect.
"The vaccine is safe, and it will reduce the chances of you developing the COVID infection and of serious illness from COVID.
"The uptake so far has been incredible, and we hope that when people are offered the vaccine, they will take the chance to receive the life-saving jab".

People are being asked not to contact their GP or the vaccination sites or visit without an appointment.
