A man has appeared in court to enter pleas following a police incident in St Dennis.

Officers were called to the area back in December last year amid reports of a "possible explosive device”.

Samuel Rhodes was arrested and charged with a number of offences.

The 30-year-old from Foxhole appeared at Truro Crown Court via video link on Tuesday (22nd February).

He admitted a host of charges including possession of a firearm with intent, possession of an imitation firearm on time of arrest, possession of a firearm less than 30cm, possession of a firearm without a certificate, assault by beating and criminal damage.

But he pleaded not guilty to two offences - making threats to kill and actual bodily harm.

Rhodes has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced in May.
