A pub in Cornwall has closed for a deep clean after a customer tested positive for coronavirus.

The Railway Hotel in Saltash posted on Facebook to say that the individual visited the premises on Sunday 6th September.

Bosses say they have worked hard to put all the measures in place to keep people safe.

The pub is now awaiting further instructions from the NHS Test and Trace team and will reopen when it is safe to do so.

The Bullers Arms in Landrake was also closed for a deep clean and has since reopened.

"We have worked hard to put all the measures in place to keep our staff and customers safe; however we have been informed that a individual who is now COVID-19 positive visited our premises.

“We have followed Government guidelines in terms of collecting customer contact details. The pub is now closed for a deep clean and we are awaiting further instruction from the NHS Test & Trace team.

"We will reopen the premises when it is safe to do so."

Bosses at the pub added they they were not asked to close, they chose to do so to help keep people safe.
