The boss of a health trust which runs community hospitals across Cornwall has resigned.

Phil Confue was the Chief Executive of the Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which also runs mental health and physical health services for adults and children.

The Trust says a review of its governance processes has been commissioned.

But bosses say they will not comment on the reasons for Mr Confue's departure.

“We can confirm, chief executive Phil Confue has resigned from the Trust. He has been replaced by Matthew Patrick on an interim basis.

“We are aware of speculation about the reasons for Mr Confue’s departure and do not intend to comment on those matters.

"We can confirm the Trust has commissioned a review of its governance processes and will consider the recommendations arising from the review when it is complete.”
